Integrated Medical Services (IMS) is a physician-led organization united through its providers’ commitment to high-quality, innovative health care. The multi-specialty group has primary care and most specialties well represented throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and many rural locations.  

IMS is looking for a compassionate and experienced Audiologist to join our Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT / Otolaryngology) division.  This person will be part of a new and growing division for the IMS organization. 

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a treatment therapist by performing audiological testing, diagnostic and treatment services to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

This is a part-time position with the potential of full-time.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Performs basic audiological test procedures including pure tone air and bone conduction testing, speech and audiometry, discrimination testing, behavioral observation testing, play audiometry, COR, tangible reinforcement operant conditioning audiometry, site of lesion testing, central nervous system testing, hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid checks, hearing aid fittings, electronic testing of hearing aids, and hearing screening.
  2. Tests and diagnoses hearing disorders and recommends treatment methods and devices appropriate to the needs of the patient.
  3. Provides rehabilitative therapy to patients to improve hearing functions, including auditory training, hearing aid orientation, and counseling.
  4. Recommends referrals to physicians, medical staff, and other professional services.
  5. Maintains records and progress notes detailing diagnosis, treatment and affect on patients.
  6. Performs basic calibration of clinical audiometer, portable audiometer, impedance equipment, hearing aid testing equipment, and calibration equipment.
  7. May assist in planning and conducting training classes in diagnosis and treatment of hearing disorders, including therapeutic principles, exercises, techniques and devices for health care professionals, families and others.
  8. Actively participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
  9. Maintains records and prepares reports and correspondence related to the work.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

 Job Requirements:

  1. Considerable knowledge of the pathology of hearing and speech disorders.
  2. Considerable knowledge of the methods used to detect and correct hearing disorders.
  3. Ability to operate audiometric equipment and to interpret the results.
  4. Considerable knowledge of instructional methods used in the work.
  5. Ability to plan individualized treatment programs and administers therapeutic exercises.
  6. Ability to calibrate audiological equipment.
  7. Ability to maintain records, prepare reports and conduct correspondence related to the work.
  8. Ability to communicate with others, both verbally and in writing.

Education and Experience

Education:

  1. Must possess a Master’s Degree in audiology, audiometry, or combined audiology and speech science from an accredited university.

 Experience:

  1. Two to five years of work experience in audiology preferred
