Integrated Medical Services is seeking a Senior Director of Revenue Cycle who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all revenue cycle / credentialing activities with a goal of maximizing reimbursement in a cost-effective manner that is in compliance with federal, state and payer-specific billing requirements. The Senior Director will work with the Revenue Cycle Manager, Clinic Leadership and Executives in a professional, positive manner to facilitate setting and meeting organizational goals. Instill the IMS mission, vision and values in the work performed.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and coordinate revenue enhancement initiatives and business operations across all aspects of the revenue cycle operations team
  • Oversees and coordinate all credentialing/ payor enrollment, hospital privileging, re-credentialing, expirable activities for new and existing providers. Position will provide leadership to establish credentialing best practices and oversee the credentialing process to meet targeted go-live dates for new/existing health plan / hospital partners.
  • Researches government and state requirements for RCM activities in new and existing locations and collaborate with other leaders to identify issues and opportunities that lead to achieving department and company goals.
  • Drives operational success and accountability by conducting weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis of metrics.  Position will establish departmental/company metrics to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for timeliness and effectiveness of department activities.
  • Maximizes the collection of medical services payments and reimbursements from patients, insurance carriers, and guarantors.
  • In conjunction with operations, reviews and enhances insurance verification, coding review, billing, collection, and payment posting processes for efficiency and best practices; ensure systems are fully functional and maximized and recommend new processes to improve current work flow
  • Reviews and maintains familiarity with payer contracts pertaining to revenue cycle operations. Assist with contract negotiations and renewals as needed.
  • Manage Quality Assurance/productivity programs for RCM functions and monitor staff and team performance, making changes, when required, to support accurate billing to payers and patients in a timely manner and compliance with laws and department procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Health Care, Finance, Business Administration or a related field is preferred, or a combination of education and experience that provides the employee with the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the job.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification preferred.
  • 5-10 years’ experience required, specifically overall revenue cycle management of a large (50-100+ providers) medical group practice with knowledge of the physician billing and insurance claim follow-up and denial management process. 
  • 5-10 years minimum of direct management experience of a large staff (50-100), knowledge of the health plan websites, CAQH, Intelli App software program, GACCP, licensing boards, NPPS (NPI), Medicare (PECOS), National Provider DB and hospital CVO's preferred
